We've answered most of the common questions we get asked here. If you do however have a question that has not been answered in the FAQ, please feel free to contact us and we'll get right back to you and answer your question.
Can I choose the scenes that are photographed? Absolutely! We'll confirm with you the exact locations that you wish to include in your panoramas or tours.
What do we need to do to be ready for you? If the shots are indoors, please have the areas presented ready for photography at the agreed time. Exterior shots will be dependant on the weather as we like to capture your locations in fine weather to appear most inviting to your website's visitors, so in some cases we'll need to arrange another agreed time.
Do we need to be present for the photography? Providing access arrangements have been made and we have clear instruction on your chosen locations, you will not need to be present. However lots of customers like to see what the process involves so you are more than welcome!
How long does the photography take? We can usually photograph up to 4 tour viewpoints within an hour.
What kind of interface do the 360° Virtual Tours use? We use onscreen controllers within our tours to present information. All interface controllers are built in house at ambientLight and include only the options required for your tour, or any additional options you request such as maps, logos, hotspots and other elements.
How do we get the tours onto our website? We provide sample code for embedding the tours into your site, and can work directly with you or your web developer in order to get your tours online.
How big are the virtual tour files? Files are usually between 1 and 2MB for a single location. This is largely dependant on the photographic content of the location and the size that the tour needs to be on your website. A tour embedded on a webpage that is not required to run full screen will be far smaller than one that does run full screen. With current broadband speeds most tours load in a few seconds. See our portfolio for file size examples.
What software is required to view 360° Virtual Tours? Our tours are built using Adobe Flash. This means that 98% of visitors to your site will be able to view your tours via their web browsers such as, Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari or Chrome. No additional plugins are required!
